Echoes of the Departed
Poem by Jaison Chacko
Elegant were they when they lived,
Soaring high, majestic and free,
But now remains a heap of mud,
Where once their proud forms stood.
In this solemn cemetery, I stand,
Watching mud heaps behind wooden crosses,
Once proud and noble lives, now gone,
Reduced to mere earthly mosses.
I wonder what stories they held,
What passions drove their hearts,
Did they dream of a life fulfilled,
Or were their ambitions cut short?
What joys did they once know,
What sorrows did they bear,
Were they loved and cherished by all,
Or did they suffer in despair?
But even in this melancholic scene,
I can’t help but feel a sense of awe,
For these souls have left their mark,
And their legacy lives on forevermore.
Gone are the days of their grace,
Replaced by a sorrowful scene,
A monument left neglected in the cemetery
Where rarely people look upon
Some with God in Heavenly Bliss
Some in hell with evil one
we not know who gone to where
Each one went to his eternal abode
Let this be a lesson to us all,
To cherish what we have while we may,
For the beauty of life is fleeting,
And can vanish in but a day.
May we strive to protect and preserve,
All the wonders that surround,
So that future generations may witness,
The elegance that once abounded.
For life is but a fleeting gift,
A momentary chance to live,
To leave a mark upon this world,
And share the love we have to give.
So let us think about our lives,
And how we want to be remembered,
Let us do good works for eternity,
And leave a legacy that is treasured.
For when we are gone and our time is done,
Our spirits shall live on and on,
In the hearts and memories of those we touched,
A testament to a life well-spent and loved.
So let us make the most of every day,
And cherish the moments that we share,
For life is a precious gift indeed,
And we must make the most of it while we’re here.
And when our time on Earth is through,
We’ll enter a realm beyond our view,
A place where love and light abound,
Where peace and joy forever surround.
For in Heaven, we shall live forever,
In a world of wonder, love, and grace,
Our spirits free from earthly tether,
In a blissful and eternal embrace.
So let us strive to do our best,
To leave a legacy of love and light,
For in Heaven, we shall find our rest,
And bask in eternal glory and delight
